The Summer Film Music Workshops take place in the summer months between June and August. They focus on practical work leading to a scoring session with a professional film music orchestra. The scoring orchestras are highly experienced, professional orchestras, so preparation and organisation are key focuses for the workshops.

The environment is as important for inspiration and creativity as is the technical needs: MSCN Summer Film Workshops take place in excellent locations, such as Italy (Bologna, Rovigo), Germany (Cologne, Berlin), Sweden (Gothenburg), and the UK (Edinburgh, Manchester). These are joined by leading International composers, conductors and educators in the film composition world.
